"Engaging the World Beyond its Walls"
The Rasin Center is to ensure that the Westover community engages with the world beyond its walls through a focus on experiential and service learning, DEIB, environmental sustainability, global programs, and student leadership.
I don’t think that there’s anybody that can say that they gave a gift to a school, and the school gave them a bigger gift back.
Rasin Center for Global Justice Founder, Joy Peterkin Rasin '54
Through curriculum and professional development, long-term sustainability initiatives, trips, and service-learning opportunities, the Rasin Center seeks to build connections for and spark action in all those connected to Westover as we strive to cultivate a world centered on global justice.
The Service Learning, Diversity & Inclusion, Environmental Sustainability, and Global Programs have come together as The Rasin Center for Global Justice in order to collaborate with renewed energy, creativity, and purpose in support of our School's ideals of understanding and engagement.
The Center's unique synergy supports our school's motto: “To Think, To Do, To Be", by inspiring our students:
Joy Peterkin Rasin '54, in honor of her late husband, Rudolph S. Rasin, has generously sponsored the Center's work; her passion for social justice also serves as inspiration.
