Due to the impact of COVID-19, school life became quite different. It brought limitations to both learning and connecting. This body of work expresses how students used art to reconnect and recenter amidst unprecedented change. Through nostalgic, imaginative, hybrid, cultural, technical, or personal views of themselves and their worlds, these works demonstrate how creativity, as both a doing and an attitude, builds resilience.

As one student writes, “Art not only helps me to connect with other people, it also helps me connect with myself.” Statement co-authored by Lan Wan ('22).
