Westover School’s Theatre Department proudly presented its spring term production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods on Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2 at 7:00 pm in the School’s LBD Performing Arts Center. Into The Woods combines the classic stories of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood with the tale of a Baker and his wife who desperately want to have a child. As the stories unfold, the characters show us a less idealistic version of life where conflict is inevitable and regular people make mistakes, thus breaking the social barriers of perfectionism and idealism. Westover’s Director of Drama, Marla Truini of Roxbury, directed this production.

Westover School is an independent boarding and day high school that challenges smart, motivated girls to become confident, connected women. The mission of Westover School is to empower young women to lead lives of consequence. The School’s strategic vision is to be a thriving global community of authentic voices embracing joy, diversity, intellectual growth, and change.
