Westover’s Sydney Kadiyala will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch as she is being recognized as the “CGI STEM All-Star of The Game” on Saturday, April 23rd. CGI is passionate about STEM education and the Yard Goats strive to make a difference in the Hartford Community. Ms. Kadiyala, the director of Westover School's WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Program, is being honored and celebrated for her role in advancing STEM education in our community.

In the WISE program, Sydney guides students to apply principles of science and engineering to all subject areas. Her passion for STEM and her unwavering support for the student body is evident the moment you step into her classroom. She states, “Students will leave here, armed with knowledge and skills, while also empowered with the intent to improve the lives of others as a global citizen.”

Westover School is an independent boarding and day high school that challenges smart, motivated girls to become confident, connected women. The mission of Westover School is to empower young women to lead lives of consequence. Westover challenges its young women to think independently, to embrace diversity, and to grow intellectually and spiritually. Westover is committed to providing a college preparatory education in a small community atmosphere that emphasizes student-adult interaction. Our faculty has been chosen not only for their scholarship but also because they are people who share several fundamental moral concerns: a belief in passing on to young women their own enthusiasm for learning and a compassion for others.
