Westover Fund

List of 10 items.

  • Area of Greatest Need

Unrestricted gifts that make a difference across every corner of campus, supporting all of Westover's students, programs, and people. These donations also allow Westover to be nimble to say yes to innovation and initiatives, and meet unanticipated needs. Westover Fund donors take center stage in our epic adventure story.
  • Faculty Support

Faculty are the beating heart of our School. Support means that faculty can seek professional development opportunities and bring their subject matter to life through fresh and engaging coursework. Whether they are honing their craft, understanding the impact of AI, or utilizing experiential learning opportunities, this targeted gift provides resources that inspire our students (and alums) favorite teachers.
  • Teaching and Learning Center for Academic Engagement

Gifts bring to life the lab that merges research and practice, allowing students and teachers alike to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Westover has reimagined a traditional learning center to amplify best practices through educational partners like Challenge Success, the Oxford Tutorial Model, and the Resiliency Project. The Center sets Westover apart by bringing together the best pedagogical practices.
  • Financial Aid

64% of Westover students receive critical financial aid. When you give to financial aid, you help ensure that the Westover experience is available to talented, curious, and motivated girls. When the ability to afford is less important than the passion for learning, Westover can fully be a transformative educational experience. Westover pride lives here.
  • Westover Mosaic Pooled Scholarship

We want every student to know that they belong here. Providing targeted financial aid dollars for students of color reflects our pride in creating a diverse community and shows our commitment to uplift historically underrepresented groups. Whether hailing from nearby or around the world, the diversity of people and cultures who make up this community creates a beautiful mosaic.
  • Arts & Athletics

Supporting the Arts and Athletics helps to develop the whole student and open new worlds of life-long imagination and physicality. There is a magic that happens through creativity and working as a team - sparking confidence, leadership, talent, and comradery. Funds allow students opportunities to showcase their skills and ensure we have the proper equipment (and cool uniforms).
  • Campus Stewardship & Sustainability

The beauty of this place is one of the things that makes Westover so special, and you can support its upkeep, and programs such as composting, the community garden, the greenhouse and more. Supporting this Fund is ensuring the Westover you know is the Westover of tomorrow, only better. Thodate Pope Riddle would be proud of the way we have cared for this School.
  • Technology

Sometimes it’s all about keeping up, sometimes it’s about cutting edge opportunities, and sometimes it is about updating and safety. Ensuring our students  and teachers have access to software like Google Classroom or equipment like a Glowforge Pro, or become expert sound board or circular saw users  means they are prepared beyond their time here. You can see this fund come to life in the Makerspace, in the theater, in the labs and classrooms.
  • Student Life

A sense of belonging at Westover is amplified outside the classroom. Imagine building a more just world through Rasin Center for Global Justice, finding  passion in a club or affinity group, immersing in a culturally-rich and supportive dorm experience.  This is a formative time for Westover students and you can provide for student discovery as they figure out how they wish to be in the world.
  • Student Enrichment and Emergency Fund (SEEF)

Whether it is new sneakers for volleyball, an opportunity to go abroad for service learning, or money to buy a science textbook, SEEF dollars allow students who would not otherwise be able to afford the “extras beyond the minimum” to have the full and life-changing Westover experience. The fund allows Westover to live our value of equity.

You can help to offset these projects through targeted gifts. Generally, project-based gifts are $10,000 or more and can be paid over time. Examples include relieving a budget like sustainability or WISE or seed funding for a new Initiative.

  • Capital Giving

Westover’s campus is beautiful, and there is an imperative to renovate our corridors, shared spaces, and classrooms, as well as think big about how to ensure our programs are nimble to meet the needs of our students. Ask about naming opportunities and ways to celebrate a beloved classmate or community member.
  • Endowed Giving

Westover proudly boasts a robust endowment that helps to ensure our financial sustainability. The annual interest draw from the endowment helps to provide much needed financial aid, professional development for our faculty, signature programs, and general unrestricted funds that help us meet emerging opportunities. We rely on the endowment during lean times, and hope to build those funds during times of prosperity.
  • Leaving a Legacy

Remembering Westover in your legacy plan is a simple yet powerful way to impact the School’s future while continuing to meet your other financial goals and provide for those close to you. Planned Giving includes naming Westover as a beneficiary to your IRA or insurance policy, creating a Charitable Annuity, remembering us in your estate plan, or leaving an asset to our School. You can set up gifts that provide lifelong income and that may be tax-wise. As it was during your time as student, Westover School is a place you can call home for life. We continue to provide our current students with best opportunities for academic and personal growth thanks to the generosity of the students and families who have come before.
